I am looking to upgrade my GPU on my current PC and am having a hard time trying to figure out the best option.

My current build is:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
Asus P5N-D
8GB Ram
XFX Radeon HD 7770 Black Edition S Super Overclocked
CiT ATX 12v Model: 450UB

Was looking at the GTX 750ti as a option. Anyone who can help me choice the best option?

I have a q9550 with a 750ti and there is zero bottle neck on the gpu in non cpu intensive games. It hovers at 99% gpu in all but GTA V and thats because the game is heavy cpu bound. It hovers around 85%-90% in that game

At the price you can get a 750ti now its a worthy upgrade for the q9550

Probably not.

Honestly the tech is old.
The cheapest of cheap modern CPUs smokes it.
Just look at the comparison to a G3258

The tech is old, you could always buy a good GPU and keep it for a rebuild if you don't get the performance you're looking for.

Just cross your fingers that your CIT power supply does not blow everything up - that's a junk-quality brand. I'd upgrade that to something worth carrying over in a future upgrade/rebuild before throwing money at other new parts.

Here's a PSU list for inspiration of what brands/models to look for and which ones to avoid.

I overclocked my q9550 to 3.8ghz and recently installed a 2060 super. This pc is now 13 years old, and I’m still able to game on it in 1080p. In passmark I’m scoring 10,400 for gpu performance, but I should be seeing around 15,000 so I’m thinking the cpu is bottlenecking the gpu. However, in userbenchmark I’m scoring 78% for gpu 3d performance which is pretty much one of the fastest scores for that gpu. I only have 4gb of ram running windows 10. I have an additional 4gb of ram on the way (for $8) so I’ll see if that helps anything.
