I am looking into getting a GPU upgrade but I'm not ready to re build the whole system.
What is the current best option compatible with my MSI B360 Gaming Plus (MS-7B22) motherboard ?

I am getting a bit lost with the PCIe 3 /4 stuff.
Thanks in advance.

PCI-E 4.0 is backwards compatible with PCI-E 3.0.

What is the current best option with compatability with my mb?
The best? RTX 4090.

You can have any GPU slotted to your MoBo, no restrictions.

What are restrictions, are:
1. PSU max wattage + PCI-E power cables PSU has.
2. PC case clearance regarding GPU dimensions.
3. Thickness of your wallet.

Thanks for the reply Aeacus

My psu is 850W. It is modular wit hthe cables and there are loads of them. The cards I have seen all seem to be covered.
Clearence is about 310mm
I currently have a 1080ti
I'm looking at up to about £500.

I was looking at:

MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB GAMING X Ada Lovelace

I'd pick a 4070 over any 4060. Unless you don't need more than the entry level 4060 in which case you don't need to go over 300, or not *much*. For 500, you are looking at a 4070 or a RX 7800 XT:
Asus DUAL OC 4070, or a Gigabyte GAMING OC 7800 XT

PSU wise RTX 4070 Ti Super is tops. For RTX 4080, you'd be looking towards 1000W PSU.

Budget wise, RTX 4070 or RX 7800 XT,

Performance wise, RX 7800 XT is slightly better, ~5 FPS more than RTX 4070, but overall, both are equal,

Personally, i prefer Nvidia. More stable drivers and most games work better with Nvidia than with Radeon.
