Hey guys!

I was so short on money last year that I had to sell my 1070 8GB which I regret so much now that I have decided to take up Game Development this spring. I was looking to buy the cheapest possible card that will run my Unity and Unreal engine projects (High quality projects as well) and some VR later in the future. I don't wanna waste my money by buying a card that will crap the bed next year, so Im asking for advice on a card that will get me through Game Development for atleast another 3 years for the cheapest, I found this little gem that seems good for the $$

https://www.amazon.ca/ASUS-GeForce-Dual-fan-Graphics-DUAL-GTX1060-O6G/dp/B01JHQT1SE/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1531246644&sr=1-4&keywords=gtx+1060+6GB

Let me know what you guys think, also any advice and techy support would be great help!! Not sure what card to get anymore, Like I said nothing Ultra HD just for working in the Unreal Engine with ease but I want it to handle anything the Engines throw at me.

Thanks guys!!

That's like the impossible question looking at something like this : https://forums.unrealengine.com/community/general-discussion/121692-what-gpus-do-you-use-for-game-development-with-ue4

Ive the GPU you linked. It's a really good card (for gaming at 1080p @60hz). It's quiet, OC'able substantially. It's a good GPU.

If you were doing game development for Consoles, then I'd say AMD, because all current consoles use AMD parts. If PC gaming, then maybe Nvidia, as you can use all the developer kits, and even some AMD open source kits. But if there is specific software that you are using, and it has support for one or other (AMD or Nvidia) maybe that should be your guide. I've limited knowledge on it, and aas such can't give a more clear...
rx 580 price has also dropped, are they better in game overdeveloping? number wise, rx580 is stronger.
