I am trying to find the best Graphics card money can buy, how ever, i only want to use one monitor. My desk isn't big enough for more than one monitor and their isn't enough room in my office for a new desk. I also want to "future proof" so any future games that come out will run smoothly. Right now i have a GTX 770 but with the new games coming out it no longer runs on ultra above 30fps. Any suggestions?

There is no budget. Also my resolution is 2560x1440 and i am looking to get above 40 fps on ultra. Preferably 60fps but i don't know much about these kinds of things so i don't want to shoot to high.

But do i really need that for only one monitor? Will it still work to its max potential?

I would think a GTX770 would be enough to run 2560x1440 at decent framerates for most games. But for 2K gaming I would say just go with the GTX980Ti. Depending on your settings the GPU can always be maxed out by disabling V-sync or running DSR.

Not quite sure I understand the purpose of setting an unlimited budget and then questioning the second fastest single GPU available.

I was readying about the titan and it seemed that people only got it for multiple screens so i wasn't sure if he knew i only wanted one monitor. That is why i asked if it still is okay with one monitor. I don't know hardly anything at all about these things i apologize if i say something that sounds a little off.

A GPU will work as hard as it can given any condition. They aren't specialized for any particular resolution, FPS output, multiple screens or anything like that. Just happens that more powerful GPUs can handle more screens and higher resolutions.

I had to laugh at this because I was thinking the same thing while I was reading it.

Recommendation: If you're going to play 1440p at 144 Hz, then you might as well go for two 980 Ti's in SLI. It'll cost you approximately $1,300 for two cards, but if no budget... You'll also need an 850 watt power supply to pull this off.
