Best GPU for the money?

I am looking to to upgrade my GPU and was wondering what GPU would be the best for the price. I am willing to spend between $300 to around $600. I play games like DayZ, Bioshock infinite, GTA v, metro last light redux, and looking to get assassins creed unity, dead island 2 and possibly splinter cell blacklist, and GTA iv with a lot of mods. I was looking at the gtx 970 and 980 but I'm not sure that I need to spend the money to play the games I do, do the added features like downsampling and other stuff add to the value of the card, or would I be able to get a gtx 780ti for a better price to performance ration. Or should I look at amd? Any help will be great!

the best gpu you can get is the current best bang for the buck gtx 970 or even a gtx 980 if you find a good deal on ebay or amazon .. a single gtx 970 should be plentiful for all the games you listed and more with ease and comfort

I have an R9 290x. It is good . I like it . But the GTX 980 Is Better. Go to newegg and check them all out.
Most are closer to $600 before tax but as long as you have a good quality PSU and the right processor to drive this you will be sitting in the Catbird Seat.

the gtx970 is a good value performance, the gtx 980 isn't lol, when compared to the 970. grab a gtx970 doesn't matter which vendor.
