Best GPU for the money

I have a Msi twin frozr r9 270x 2gb. I only have around $250- $275.

I was considering the gtx 960, originally I wanted the 970 but it's to expensive, should I save for the 970 or buy the 960 and spend most of my money on a good CPU.

What I mainly want to know is if the jump between a r9 270x is noticeable to a gtx 960.

If you have any other cards in mind tell me please.

I mostly play Day Stabdalone, Arma 3, Arma 2, Battlefield 4, and battlefront

All those games you stated are more CPU intensive than GPU intensive, but they do require a lot of GPU muscle power. You should save for a 970 and not a 960. It's only a little more expensive by around $50 from your max budget of $275 and will run all current games on ultra. What's your current CPU?

@ 1080p GTX 970 is your best choice. I suggest you save a bit more to get a better one so you won't have to regret not buying it. I heard someone said "If you buy cheap you buy twice."
Those titles are pretty demanding and I believe GTX 960 won't be able to keep up it them.

my CPU is the AMD FX 4170 Quad-Core Processor

That's not bad. A 970 will definitely benefit you more than getting a 960+a new CPU. You will be able to run ARMA on very high to ultra that way. If you look at my current build my processor is at 4.4GHz and I have a 970 and I can run all games on ultra at 60+FPS. Your CPU is at a similar clock speed so you will be able to run most games on ultra with a new 970. Go for the 970 and join the Nvidia fan club! 😀
