Hello all,

I’m going to be building a new gaming rig this year and plan on moving to a 1440p ultrawide monitor at 144hz. I’m having some tough time trying to figure out the GPU route to take. I’m currently stuck between 2 2080’s in SLI or a single 2080ti.

I cannot seem to find any benchmarks for this setup anywhere to really guide me. I know SLI is basically dead with DX12 but my current system is running 2 1080’s in SLI with a regular 1440 at 144hz and I have not run into many issues with negative scaling.

Thoughts?

A single, stronger GPU usually makes the most sense. SLI is only really a viable solution when you already have the top tier card & need more.

Remember though, 3440x1440 (~4.95m pixels) is nearer 1440p (~3.7m pixels) than it is 4K (~8.3m pixels) so your SLI 1080's are probably going to be good enough - at least good enough to try it out and not be disappointed.
