So i wanted to buy a GPU for the first time. I'm going to eventually use this videocard for my custom desktop build but for now i want to if my motherboard could support the videocards i have in mind. In the pictures of my motherboard, it seems the capacitors are really close to the pci slot..... which makes me wonder if i have to rethink which card would fit.( was thinking of getting an Sapphire Tri-X R9 290)

So what is the best card i could get that would fit my card?????

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: School, Movies and anime at 1080p, Gaming

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: 500 watt supply

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: athlon II X4 620 and 8gb of ram

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg, tigerdirect, ebay

PARTS PREFERENCES: doesn't matter

OVERCLOCKING: no

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080, 1280x720

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Play games like Archeage, Black Desert, CS GO, Gary's MOD, Skyrim, The witcher 3, Sims 4, Vindictus, Sniper Elite

For a 500w power supply i'd suggest an nvidia 750 ti or a 760 or an amd r9 270. That's guessing your PSU has true power as all cards need at least 500w of power.

Ill Probably end up upgrading the psu to a EVGA SuperNova 750 Watt to give it more leeway. So does anyone see the picture of my motherboard with the plugs being very close to it??? So i wont be able to fit much larger cards such as an r9 290 or even a r9 280x?
