I am currently updating my rig with a ryzen 3600x and would like to get the communities opinion what would be the best GPU to pair with this CPU I understand there are several options that pair well with the CPU but I am trying to keep it on the cheaper side if possible but still utilize the CPU if that makes sense (probably not) :) at this time I have purchased the CPU and a b450 tomahawk motherboard other components will include( 550 watt PSU 16GB of RAM a 1920 x 1080 at 144 Hertz monitor a 500gb SSD in a 2 terabyte hhd) that I am using from my current build Thanks and have a great day or night afternoon maybe you know what just have a good life and stay healthy

Solution
I really don't have a budget I will run my 970 intell I can afford the card I choose I am just won't get the best out of the upgrade without overkill or underkill trying to find a sweet spot
Just look up each reviews of each card. Just remember most reviews are done at max or near max game settings. In the real world you don’t have to run max settings.

The 3600X is a great cpu. What’s your budget? The only gpu that you could say it over the top is a 2080Ti, anything under that is an option.

It depends what you're wanting to do but if the question is will you be able to run games on medium settings in 4 years, I'd say it's likely. Also, you have the option of upgrading the GPU in a couple of years, as the 3600X is still going to be a pretty solid processor.

I have been I am not a hard core gamer by no means a lot of what I want is long life span thanks for the tip I appreciate it. That's the only problem with reviews thay talk about fps not much time is put into how long will this card hold with the ever changing word of PC gaming and it's kinda hard to do .can a 3600x keep up with a 2080ti ?

At 1080p even the best CPU’s are going to hold back a 2080Ti, it is really suited to higher resolutions. Trouble is no one can say how long a card will last because we cannot predict the future and people’s expectations are different. Some people are happy still using old GPU’s like the 780 or lower when running 1080p, other people have already upgraded from 1060’s/1070’s to newer generation.

Just FYI.
I play single player games casually at 1080p/60 hz.
I had a 2600 (OC'd to 4 Ghz) with a GTX 1660 Ti and it ran current AAA games at 80-85+ FPS at High and some on Ultra.

I now have a 3700x with an RTX 2060 Super and with those same games on Ultra I get 100+ fps (and many are 160 + fps).

Good to know I am aware that the 3700 has a much better IPC and the 1660ti is right there with the 2060 kinda makes me wonder if it was the CPU upgrade or a combination of both

I'm sure it was a combination of both But the RTX 2060 Super is definitely 30-40% faster than the 1660 Ti.

I did run the 3700x with the 1660 Ti for a few weeks and my fps went up around 10-20 on High settings depending on the game.
But adding the 2060 Super with the 3700x my fps is even higher with settings at Ultra.
If I switched back to High settings i'm sure my fps would be a LOT higher than they were with the 1660 Ti.

But I can say that I was happy with the 2600 and 1660 Ti playing at high settings, but I had some extra cash and wanted a 3700x so I went ahead and got it and the RTX 2060 Super and I am even happier now. ;)
