Hello

I've found many threads like this but not asking exactly the same questions however. I have an I7 4790, 16GB DDR3 and GTX 1080 using a 1080 resolution system currently and really wanted to upgrade for Cyberpunk!

My question is... If i want to have ray tracing work ok, what is the best card to upgrade to? I heard that using a 2080 with my system would create a 28% bottleneck but as long as i can use ray tracing and my FPS is fine, what does the bottleneck matter right?

Can anyone please confirm what is the best card and if they are 100% positive that i would get decent fps etc? Thanks very much.

Solution
for the price of a 2080 i would wait for a 3060Ti, 3060Ti is on pace with the 2080/2080 super and is about half the price

I'm using a 3080 with my 4790k setup as I was lucky enough to procure one a while back, but I do have a 1440p monitor. All games run great with ray tracing so far. SOTR and Control are the ones I've played and the Port Royal benchmark. If you're planning on upgrading your monitor in the near future get the best card you can afford as long as you have a decent PSU. I have an 850 watt with good 8pin connectors. If not at 1080p the 3060Ti would be the best choice most likely for RT. I'm also planning on replacing my system next year to unleash the 3080s full potential but I"m enjoying my games right now even with the old cpu.
