What would you rwcommend? I was eyei g the evga geforce gt 730 but im reading mixed reactions?

Im looking to do some light gaming. I dont expect to run new games on max settings but id like to get some medium settings on games like witcher 2, total war shogun and indies. Or at least run open games like dayz with no hiccup on any setting. Another reason besides financial I dont wanna get something too good is I dont want to bottleneck my system.

My cpu is some years old: amd Phenom ll X4 910 e.

Motherboard is asus M5A78L-M

Im about to get an evga bronze certified 750watt PSU if that helps.

EDIT: I narrowed it down to:

An msi r7 250x for 70 dollars. Editors choice on newegg

Or

A powercolor r7 250z for 60 dollars. Also on newegg.

Unless im missing something both seem to be identical???

Edit #2: if the 260x has a price drop I may end up getting that, keep giving me input please! ^^

Sorry my tablet was about to die so I didnt add more. Im looking to do some light gaming. Or at least run open games like dayz with no hiccup on any setting. Another reason besides financial I dont wanna get something too good is I dont want to bottleneck my system.

Thank you so much sir! That comparison site is perfect!!! I think im going to stick with the r7 250x chipset series because I can get it for 30-40 dollars less and the issue of bottlenecking being a potential danger at higher versions. Though the clock speed doesnt seem much better in the more affordable 260s going off pcpartpicker.com

Anyway....I narrowed it down to two cards. Msi r7 250x for 70 on newegg vs powercolor r7 250x for 61 on newegg. MSI isnt showing ip on the excellent comparison site you used though...so which of the two would you say is better?
Ah yes it does...Unfortunately I dont have the necessary funds to aft as placeholder pre rebate, plus my cpu isnt that great so I can have the difference be too wide with this upgrade.

Sorry. A couple of days ago they were on sale for under $100 and I did not realize the price changed. I would wait another like 36 hours for the 300 series release and then you could probably get a 260x for cheaper (under $100)

Ah is that at all related tothe pc e3 conference that nvidia and amd are participating in tomorrow? Ive been hoping that a price drop comes after it too! :) what are the chances we will see any though?

Ah thats good to hear...still my cpu is from 2008 so it may still be impacted since I think the degree of difference is wider? Nonetheless the chance that it may be ok gives me solace.

I'm hoping for a good sized price drop as I am wanting to upgrade my GPU also... It should drop at least some because most people don't like to buy "old tech" so supply and demand means they should drop price... Also the desktop that I had was probably from the same time since DDR3 came out in '07 and it had DDR2 and it also had a AMD Phenom

Yeah im future proofing and I hot a real good deal for it. Appreciate the replies mate, lets hope the deals come in tomorrow

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah it is, unfortunately after rebate so Im a few bucks short on it. Ill see what I can do... its really down to msi r7 250x vs sapphire 260x, seems like the best options. I think msi is a dual slot, not sure about the 260x. No doubt the latter has much more bandwidth though which is what matters most in gpus I believe?

I plan to keep this rig for about a year or so. I want to upgrade by the end of next year and by that point ill be aiming for an intel cpu most likely....meaning ill need to replace the motherboard also, so im not sure if I should spring for the sapphire atm. Ill decide by tmr thanks guys
