Question Best GPU Upgrade Choice?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently using a 4060 Ti 8GB with a 9800X3D and looking to upgrade. The 4070 Super seems like a solid choice given its price and availability, but I’m open to other options.

I mainly game at 1440p, aiming for a good balance of performance and longevity. Should I go for the 4070 Super, or is there a better alternative in the same price range?

Appreciate any advice!

You could try to get a RX 9070 XT (which is close to the 4080 in term of performance), but we gonna need to wait until tomorrow to know if there will be any at the actual MSRP.

Definitely see if you can pickup an RX 9070 XT tomorrow, with the market as it is, if it has enough availability, it would be the best choice.

You are already in the top tier of gpu's on tom's gpu hierarchy chart:

Temper your expectations.

You may, in part be cpu limited.
Try this simple test to check:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely somewhat cpu limited
