[SOLVED] Best GPU upgrade for a Lenovo think centre m58p

Hi I wanted to buy a lenovo think centre m58p for my nephew and upgrade the RAM and graphics card. He's not trying to play modern games on high settings just the best performance he can get he plays games that are fps as well as minecraft, Roblox and YouTube and web browsing. I'm trying to find a cheap card for about 20$ or a little more I was thinking a gt 610 but I don't think it's compatible any output will help here are the basic specs of the PC

• Intel Core 2 Duo 2.93GHz
• 4GB RAM, 250GB Hard Disk
• DVDRW Drive, Multi USB Ports, Keyboard and Mouse Included

Certainly needs to be a low power and low profile card. So no 6-pin PCIe power connectors.

GT610 would certainly meet the criteria if the form factor is correct. You will have to link to the one you found.

When looking for low-profile cards there are low-profile, and low-profile ready cards. Make sure they list the low profile bracket if it isn't pictured.

I suppose you'll have to describe what trouble you are having. There are plenty of videos out there for installing and upgrading GPUs and other expansion cards. They will likely prove a better guide.

Here is a basic step by step.

1. Turn off the system
2. Unplug it
3. Remove the case side panel and/or open the chassis so the motherboard is exposed.
4. Remove any expansion slot covers necessary to install the card. These may be simply stamped metal and can be bent in and out a few times before they will snap off, or screwed in.
5. Prepare the GPU. For low profiles cards they may come with the smaller bracket pre-installed or included as an alternate option. VGA ports on low profile cards are often attached by cable and can be unplugged. The backplate itself will be held on with one or two screws between the metal and PCB. If not alternate backplate is available, not strictly needed, but the card will be unstable in the slot.
6. Plug the card into the slot. Most PCIe x16 slots have a lever/retention clip towards the front of the computer. This must sometimes be opened (pushed down on) to open the slot. Install the GPU by pushing it into the slot until the lever/retention clip snaps into place.
7. Plug the computer back in, plug the monitor into the new GPU. If you were using VGA, you may need a DVI-VGA adapter.
8. Turn the system on. Screen resolution may be lower than normal.
9. Navigate to the vendor's website and install the latest compatible driver. Reboot the system.
10. Replace the chassis side panel or close it.

Troubleshooting would be another matter entirely.
