Question Best GPU Upgrade For My Gaming / Digital Art Workstation PC

My current pc build is using a damaged Asus Strix RTX 3070 that is unable to game at resolutions of 1980 X 1200 or higher. The screen goes black or says no signal on my 4K TCL television. Due to this fact, which card would be best to purchase for my pc workstation that is used for gaming, 2D / 3D digital art programs (Adobe, ClipStudio, Maya, Krita) and regular word processing.

in all seriousness I’d lean towards the 3090. Since your budget allows it. For gaming you've got Ray Tracing performance. For rendering, nVidia with CUDA is generally better supported or works faster. Plus you get 24GB VRAM. For most Adobe stuff. GPU performance seems to peak with mid range cards before there isn't much to be gained. From what I can tell Maya has some support and nVidia is generally preferred over AMD.

If you can limp along. The 4080 comes in November. If you can afford it, the 4090 comes in October.

Edit: If it's just fans you need. You can try this site. I've never tried them myself. Usually you just need a precision screwdriver set for the fans. The shroud probably just has some hard to spot screws and maybe some plastic tabs for removal.

Before buying a new video card, contact TCL, tell them the model number of your TV, what you are using it for and the problem you are experiencing. Might try upgrading the TV firmware first. If that doesn't solve the issue you may need a better cable. I try to keep everything up to date including the motherboard BIOS in my computer.

I game at 1440p on a Samsung Q80 [a screen that can run 4K at 120Hz], my GPU is an MSI RTX 3070 Ti. At 2560 x 1440 pixels I don't have the problem you have. I don't have that problem at 4K and 120Hz either. I use a special 4K 120Hz HDMI cable.

6800 XT, but I’d try to fix the fans first. What about the manufacturers warranty?

That card has HDMI 2.1a should support 8K @ 60Hz

You might need to buy a good cable.

The card should be in warranty.
