Hi.
To the point.

I play at 2560x1080p resolution, and at 75hz max, so no high FPS gaming nor anything.
I currently run a GTX 1060 on a 620w Seasonic PSU.
Also a R7 1700.

So far so good, but still i cannot get to enjoy a smooth experience (my monitor is not supported by g-sync) and often i drop below 45 FPS in many titles.
I been looking at them AMD cards for the freesync, like RX 6700 XT but that would most likely requiere a PSU upgrade.

Any suggestion?

GTX 1060 at 120W. Closest replacement without a significant power increase.

RX6600 at 132W $200
RX 6600 XT at 160W $230
RX 6650 XT at 180W $240
RTX 4060 at 115W (Roughly ties the RX7600 and RX6700) $305
RX 7600 at 160W. (Comes in a little below the RX 6700 non-XT) $260
RX 6700 at 170W $270
RTX 4060Ti at 160W (out performs the 6700XT generally) $390

I'd shoot for the 6600xt, good upgrade from the 1060, wont need a new PSU unless you are already on the edge powering a 1060, needs at least a 500 watt for the 6600xt, you could get a 6700xt if the budget allowed, would work if the seasonic is a good quality unit.

The r7 1700 is a little dated at well, I would definitely go for the GPU first though, look for a faster CPU later, 5600x's are getting cheap on the used market and is a pretty good upgrade over the 1700, and should work on your board with a bios update.

Good Luck!

What is your budget?
For my country, i guess 300 USD in the equivalent.
S12II, M12II or M12II EVO?

Is definitely holding up a 6700XT or equivalent.

S12II, it is a good unit, or it was when i purchased it.

And yeah, i've seen the chances of bottlenecking, but the platform itself is doing well, i just need a lil extra juice here.

Im going to check that, the 6600 XT is almost twice as pricey as the 6600 in my country though...

6600 - 230k : https://www.solotodo.cl/products/123220-sapphire-pulse-amd-radeon-rx-6600-11310-01-20g
6600 XT - 400k: https://www.solotodo.cl/products/12...-rx-6600xt-8gb-gddr6-axrx-6600xt-8gbd6-3dheoc

170k = 195 USD diference.
Quite absurd, but such is the situation on my country - Also im just averse to second hand cards.

Thank you all for your replies.
I think the 6600 is the way to go it seems.

I bought a 6650XT a few weeks ago when it was on sale (for $210). It's working out very well for my needs. My monitor is 3440x1440, 6650XT is fairly good at medium setting. At your resolution it should give you smooth 75 FPS in most games on high.
Check if your monitor supports AMD FreeSync. Mine doesn't support GSync but does support FreeSync from 40 FPS to 100 FPS, so long as I get 40+ I'm mostly good.

There are many recommendations for 6600XT, in the US AMD stopped making 6600 and replaced it with 6650. They are essentially the same.

A fine choice. Roughly equivalent to a GTX1080, which is essentially two GTX1060.

Just make sure to use DDU to do a clean wipe of the Nvidia drivers.

Um...
Sorry for the necromancy.

A wild 7600 has appeared in my market, and now im torn between the 6600 and the 7600.

The bottleneck calculator says my 1700 will choke the 7600 by arround 6% and thats at normal 1080p, ultrawide uses a bit more resources. My motherboard also doesn't have PCie 4.0, but i've seen the diference isn't that much.

It would be more of a future proof purchase if i go for the 7600...

But im still undecided if it really is a card i will use for that long, and im still just wanting a 45-75fps freesync experience anyway... So the 6600 seems like more than enough for that....

What would you guys do?
