Best GPu with Stock i7 930 Bloomfield?

I have a rig with an old i7 930 Bloomfield. It isn't overclocked or anything, but I could possibly. I was wondering if there was a gpu you would recommend? If you need more info let me know.

Overclocked the i7 930 is still surprisingly strong for how old it is. It depends on your budget but a 970 or a 390 would be solid choices.

is it fairly straightforward to do a mild overclock?

You would need to replace the stock cooler if you haven't but overclocking to 3.8-4.0ghz is very common.
