I have a 500w psu and It dosen't have a 6-pin or even and 8-pin, so I'd like someone too recommend me the best gpu without needing a 6-pin or 8-pin. I don't want too upgrade my psu and I don't really know why it dosen't have a 6-pin if it's 500w, I bought a gtx 750ti for christmas and I used it for about an hour then I got no signal on my monitor so I took it too a computer shop and the man said it was 'dead' because I think it used up too much power or something i'm not really sure. Because I have no 6-pin I had to get a molex to 6-pin and I think that's using alot of my psu power (im not good with hardware so i don't know). I've looked everywhere in my local stores for gpus without a 6 or 8-pin but there is none (stores like currys, argos and maplin) I just can't find any somebody please help me...

Hello,

Here are the 3 new mid-range GPUs available on the market that do not require additional power connectors: RX 460, GTX 1050 and GTX 1050Ti. They all draw power from your motherboard and don't need additional wires, so they will work very well in your PC.

The best out of them is 1050Ti

Curry's & maplin both stock 1050/ti's & a couple of RX 460s , the prices are just mental though , well over £150 for a RX 460 when its a £90-110 card

You really ought to let us know your PSU model (take a photo if you're not sure of the label & upload to postimage.org) & the rest of your PC specs.

+KeenanGreen Let's back up a little bit. You bought a GTX 750 Ti and now It's supposedly dead. So is the item being warranty replaced, or did you think that you're out of pocket for the money. Here is what I suggest: (1) Troubleshoot the 750 Ti and (2) Develop an option for upgrade.

Question #1: What is the precise manufacturer and model number of your power supply? You'll need to open up your case and then look at the side of the power supply. I want to verify that it doesn't have a 6 pin PCIe connector. I've never heard of that in all my years, except if the power supply is 10+ years old.

We need to figure out if the 750 Ti is truly inoperable. If it is, AND it was truly caused by the power supply then you would HAVE to buy a new power supply. It's not logical to have a power supply destroy a graphics card, and then purchase another graphics card to put in it's place. So please answer my question about the power supply manufacturer and model number, and then please let me know the status of the 750 Ti. Meaning, was it RMA'd yet, or you have the "broken"card in your possession. Also, please tell me where you purchased the 750 Ti from.

They're your current cheapest variant of each card from amazon at the moment.

All are better than the 750ti

You should absolutely consider rcald2000s advice before spending more money though.

There is definitely no 6-pin I've looked everywhere in my pc, here is my power supply: http://postimg.org/image/faz1pg21b/
Here are my pc specs: http://pastebin.com/i48YFd0m
If anymore info is needed just let me know

Wow, that power supply is terrifying. Buy a new power supply ASAP. In the US, a Seasonic S12-II 520W would cost $50 USD. If that's not available where you are in the world at a reasonable price, then supply us with the website that you feel most comfortable purchasing from, and we'll make a suggestion.

I like ThomasKK's and madmatt30's suggestions for a graphics card. Again, even if you experienced no problem, I would have strongly suggested replacing that power supply. Even notoriously unreliable PSUs have a manufacturer and model # listed on them. Yours only states 500-B. It would not surprise me if that power supply damaged your graphics card. If you don't replace it, then you're making a huge mistake.

^ yup that's a maplin 500w extra special PSU - seen them before , manufacturer by cit for about £3 , then badged with a fancy label which looks nice.

In real world terms its a sub 300w unit & a really really bad quality one.

It 'would' run a 1050ti or rx460 but essentially you should replace it at the end of the day.

With the 7650k (assuming you're running integrated graphics at the moment) I would top out with a 1050ti in all honesty , its peobablybthe ideal pairing performance wise.
How much do you have to spend max budget??

My max budget is about £120

I saw a Rx 460 on amazon and since it uses only motherboard power I think i'd get that if my pc can handle it. I'll buy a new psu another time if my pc can run the rx 460 without damaging it but if my pc can't then i'll have to get a new psu and wait too get my gpu which I really don't want to.

gpu I want: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-OC-4Gb-GDDR5-Memory-Graphics/dp/B01JPAVZQI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1483538314&sr=8-1&keywords=rx+460

Is there a UK website of newegg? Also I would prefer to order from amazon though.

the rx 460 is a good choice, that is a bus powered model too & your psu should be enough for it.
Bear in mind your psu is crap quality mate, not going to pussyfoot around & pretend it isnt.
On paper its got 264w 12v,& youre system will top out around 200w so yes it will run it ok but Id still replace it at your earliest opportunity.
You 'should' be ok for the time being.

The gxt 1050 though is a more powerful card & draws 5-10w less (although only half the vram) but ultimately your choice.
