What powersupply do you have? Both the cards listed by Obsidian86 need at least 450Watts and at least one (some GTS250 need 2) 6-pin PCI-E connectors from it.
If you have a stock PSU look no higher than the ATI HD4650 or Nvidia 9500GT.

The graphics card can have any type of memory, it is totally independant of the motherboards requirements.

^^

Graphic card you are suggesting requires 450W PSU.GEForce 9400GT & 9500GT(MSI) requires minimum 350W PSU and Direct X 10.Same segment entry level graphic card ATI Radeon HD 4350 (XFX) requires minimum 300W PSU & Direct X 10.1 (Windows Vista service pack 1).I am running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (build 2600) & Direct X 9.0c.Will these cards support?

I found a link : http://forums.s3chromezone.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=591

Going through the I concluded HD 4350 has better gaming performance than 9400 GT.Though 9400 GT was made by BIOSTAR here and I think MSI could do better. What you think?

DX 10.1 is just the highest leval of DirectX that the card can support, you do not have to have it installed to use the card, which will run perfectly under DX9 and work with games down to DX5 or perhaps even lower.
Neither the 9500GT nor HD4650 need that much power, in fact neither draws more than 40Watts at maximum load, you'll be fine with either and both will be much better than a HD4350, which is really just one step up from onboard graphics.
The high power requirements are simply the manufacturers covering themselves. Plenty of poor quality PSUs exist which do not deliver their rated power so the manufacturers inflate the power requirements of their cards to compensate.

THANKS for your reply but acc. to this chart they consume much more power than what you told.I am little confused now.
