but im going to say its 305W (its says its a L305P-03) .Either way it seems to do fine for me however i wanted to upgrade my graphics card to an AMD radeon HD 7990. Possible? Worth it? answers recommendations all welcome.

Something like this. Would be hard to justify buying a 7990 when the R9-295X2 is faster and cheaper.

750 ti is fine since it dosent run on too much power and 300 watts may be just enough for it you are limited by that power supply

Indeed that is a Dell 305W power supply for a light server.

7990 would be out of the question with a 300W supply, also a little dated. R9-295X2 would be contemporary. Both would need about 300W on their own.

GTX750 and GTX750Ti are the most powerful GPUs available that do not require external power. They run solely off the power provided by the slot. (GTX750ti uses about 60W)

Anything more would be bottlenecked by your older processor anyway (And these might be a little bit as well)

But that depends on the games you want to play and your screen resolution. GTX750Ti can handle 1920x1080 at above 30 fps for practically any available game. Reduction of settings will increase the performance.

Well right now im running a card that need 400W jsut fine like i said and i have a HD 5450 which is also a 400W card that seems to run fine. However im not against upgrading my PSU.

Wait they need there own power supply? How does one even do that!

Java:

ok noted. ok so to get the HD 7990 ( and fully use its power) What would be the ideal setup because im looking to upgrade my computer anyways.

Ok lets say i upgrade to a 750W Psu what Graphics card range are we dealing with then

Solution

If you put a dual GPU card like a 7990 or R9-295X2 into that system, you would not be able to realize the potential performance in that video card.

That CPU is about 5 generations older then the cards in question.

With a quality 750 watt power supply (Antec HGC, Corsair HX, PC Power and Cooling, Seasonic, XFX), you could run any single GPU solution you wanted, though the performance of the higher end cards would be restricted by your insufficient CPU.
