best graphics card for me

im deciding to get a gpu for my pc
i originally wanted a 970 but it is way too expensive in australia which is like $500

i usually play games like cs go, starcraft, assassins creed games, call of duty games, dota 2

i'm hoping to spend at least $300ish no higher than $350

or should i just wait for the r9 300 series?

i play at 1080p, i dont care about maxing out every game but would like at least medium to high settings

There really isn't much available in Australia that I can see online, a 280x is the best I can find in your price range, the 290's are hard to find and expensive.

You might be better waiting for the 300 series and seeing if you get more options.

Unless you can go up to 380$ (http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-r9290dc24gd5) I think you should go with the GTX 960 over the R9 280x if you play at 1080p, its a bit slower but have significantly lower power consumption.
