Hello everyone!

I have an old Dell Dimension that's completely maxed out in what it can handle, but has been given to me as a handy down due to it not working and being old.

It has 4 sticks of 1gb DDR2 running at 667 and a Pentium D 960 running at 3.6Ghz.

The only problem with it is that the graphics card is busted, so what's the highest card I can get that is compatible and won't become bottle-necked?

Solution

Yeah I would recommend a HD 7850 2gb (if it can fit in your case)
If not try a gtx 650 ti.

The thing is, if you get a GPU thats any better your system might bottleneck it

This website should help you choose a card based on performance

Don't choose a card over the 1gb gtx 650 ti boost.

BTW does the mobo have a PCIe x16 port on it?

Radeon HD7750 will be the best option for you. One reason is your PSU (which is 375W). So, a low-TDP card like HD7750 will be best. Also, I think it'll be a good balance, without bottleneck.
