Hi, just wanted to know what the best suited graphics card would be for prepar3dv2.5. Flight Simulator. Currently I use an AMD Radeon HD 6900 series (XFX Pine Group). I was monitoring the temp of the card and in normal working range from cold start to hours of operation its temp swings from the 70's to 91 or 92. Is this too hot for the card.? What should the average temperature for this board be? I am wanting to lower the temp of the card to extend the life of it.

Thank you in advance for your Advice

To hot, the thermal compound probably is wearing off, you could get a R9 280 GPU or 270x GPU off amazon.

Hey Newbbuilder11. I am brand new to Prepar3D.

I also have an AMD Radeon HD 6900:
XFX HD 6950 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity)

It has 2GB GDDR5 and DirectX11, which Prepar3D recommends. I plan to set up a 7 monitor display (5 for 180 visuals, and two for instrument panels). I plan to use image warping software. You recommended either the R9 280 GPU or 270x GPU. Do you have experience using Prepar3D and/or multi-monitor display performance?

What if I want to use the Oculus Rift? Any recommendations?

Also, I'd prefer to run Windows 8.1, but I also have Windows 7. Is there a performance difference?

Any inputs would be much appreciated. Thanks.
