Solution
As this is an older HP machine there is no guarantee that any 700-1000 series card will work in that system due to motherboard BIOS limitations. I can't find any benchmarks or posts of someone getting a newer 1000 series card working on the h8-1237c. Even if you could get a GTX 1060 working your CPU would become your bottleneck. You also must buy a new PSU as well and there's the possibility of a larger card not possibly fitting and airflow issues as the case wasn't designed to house a high powered graphics card.

I would just buy a new machine honestly. I would look for a prebuilt with a GTX 1050 Ti or GTX 1060 and save yourself the headache.
I saw a picture of that motherboard and it looks like it uses standard power connectors. The power supply itself looks like it's a standard power supply as well. That computer is from their workstation line, so that's probably why it's more upgrade friendly than HP's consumer line.

You have a Sandy Bridge i5, so I think anything up to a 1060 3gb would serve you well. You'll need a decent quality power supply with a 6 pin pci-ex connector for a 1060. What games are you hoping to play and at what resolution?
