Best graphics for single monitor

Just wanted to know what would be the best graphics setup for a single 1080p monitor.

A single HD6690, dual 6950s, or triple 6950s

With the 6950s flashed to 6970s


Also up for any suggestions on Nvidia cards.

A lot of it depends on your complete specs. Please mention them and if you have a budget also do that.

Would be running either a Asus Maximus IV Extreme Z or ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 Motherboard.
Intel i5 2500k
16GB RAM
120GB SSD

Also budget would be about $800

Triple 6950 is way too overkill.

6950 CF is good enough you can max out all games in the planet with this.

Or even a GTX580 single card is also good. CF/SLI options do generate a lot of heat so take care of that.

Other option would be the GTX570 SLI. You would get the benefits of CUDA, PhysX and all the proprietary stuff that nVidia have.

For the motherboard stick to Asus.
