best gtx 970 brand.

i decided to buy a gtx 970. what is the best card? asus,msi,gigabyte,zotac or evga. i dont care much about the money. i will have on this build a 4690k i5 and 16gb of ram,asus z87 pro motherboard. also how much watts do i need for a build like that?

600W should be enough..

All cards perform almost the same.. get the cheapest you can find. Also don't forget to check card length (they are different between brands/models) and whether it fits your pc case.

A decent 550w will run those specs , no problem.

Heard this before and still have doubts.

970 in peak will consume 440 to 450 W.
i5 4690k - 110W stock and up to 180W when OCd to max (loaded with Prime95)

There are rumors Tier 1 PSUs will produce more than is written on the box but my math says 650W is the smallest wattage to safely run this rig.
