Hey everyone.

I am very close to finishing my computer but need a heat sink for the cpu.

My case will not have a problem with air flow because it is the Cooler Master HAF

The CPU i will be overclocking is the Q9550 (haven't ordered it yet) and i want to take it to
3.5-3.6ghz.

I know most people looking at this post will say get the TRUE or the s1283.
I will agree, those are great heatsinks, but the TRUE is like 70$ and both heatsinks are big and clunky, requiring retention brackets.

So what i am looking for is a nice 30-50$ (US) heatsink, that is not really big, and looks cool through a window.
I know the last part is just a luxury, but hey, i want to take a look at it running and feel proud of myself for finishing my dream computer. I have been looking at the CNPS9700 (a lil expensive tho) and also the Thermaltake Blue Orb II although i could not get a hold of some reviews of it. (that one would look extremely cool)

Thanks for reading, im open to all opinions and suggestions. Like i said i am not looking to extreme overclock, just want to push it to around there, (biggest thing is i really dont want to change the voltage on it either)

Don't lie, you didnt even look around did you...

One google search and 5 minutes later...

i always research everything before i buy it, i know tons of other people on this forum use it just to prevent themselves for researching stuff. But everywhere i look it says get the TRUE or the S1283.

I am not looking for extreme overclocking, just a budget, good sized Heat sink that looks cool in a window case.

Don't accuse me of not looking, because i been researching every part down to the slightest detail.

Firstly, if that was the case, you wouldn't be asking the very basic question of which HS to use.

the Thermaltake Blue Orb II although i could not get a hold of some reviews of it.

You didn't even look for any reviews, I called you out on it. I found several on google in 5 minutes.

So, im going to make the very basic assumption that, due to your lack of investigative skill and/or laziness you probably wont go read any HS reviews. You expect simply for some one to give you the answer.

There is no one HS for your processor, there are probably over 100. So get reading, compare price, performance and how asteticly pleasing you think the HS looks, and you'l have the basis for picking out the one you think works best for you.

Often, Maximum PC and other CPU magazines in the like, have a variety of reviews they do on several components, and give you a full comparison list of all attributes.

Dont be afraid, go spend 12$ a couple hours and read.

how do i happen apon the one hypocritical jerk on here? u shouldn't even be replying to anything on these forumns if your not willing to offer a suggestion. All u did was post tons of crap and tell me to go looking myself, the point was looking for opinions and all you turned it into was a flamefest, don't bother replying on forums where people are askin for some slight help if all your gonna do is be a dick about it

Lol, i gave you several reviews of the one you were looking for - have your them yet ?

No one here is going to answer you with a HS review, that you can't find yourself. I told you to go read; if i can find reviews - SO CAN YOU.

Don't feel the trolls.

I like my zalman 9700. Some will shoot it down, others love it. I like it because it matches the rest of my blue fans in my antec 1200 case.
