I have been using my homeplug for a few years now and it only gives me 30mb/s and we pay for 190mb/s which can be achieved by using cable. For complicate reasons i can`t have an internet cable to my pc and need to use homeplugs. So i would like to know which homeplug will give me the most Mb/s.

There are 3 basic type AV which runs claims 200m, AV-500 which claims 500m and AV2 which claims 600m. The vast majority of these devices use qualcomm chips so you get pretty much the same speed no matter the brand but of course av2 is faster than av-500. None of these will come even close to the 190m you are getting from the ISP. The actual speeds depend on your house much more than the devices but I would not expect much over 100m even from the best devices on the market. Now if you are using the older 200m units you will see a definite increase in the speed going to the newer devices.

Still in most cases the biggest gains you can get are related to trying different outlet combinations in the house. Very trivial things affect powerline device

I now have a Sweex powerline 200 adapter, it has Powerline 200Mb/s and Ethernet 1Gb/s. I was thinking about getting the new Devolo dLAN 1200+ which has Powerline 1200Mb/s

I suggest getting a wireless router especially if your computer has wireless connectivity (like a laptop)

Wifi is not as unpredictable and open to variables compared to a homeplug. A router may cost more but it will also provide internet access to mobile devices that you may own (laptop/tablet/smartphone)

A wireless N router should provide a signal strong enough for your PC to get the full 190Mbps of your subscription. If your computer does not have wifi connectivity, just get it a USB wifi adapter.

Those are the new version of powerline that try to run 2 overlapping signal using mimo like wireless does. I have seen very little testing results on the technology. I suspect like wireless even though in theory it double the speed you likely only get 10-20% more.

Don't even consider wireless if you can not get 802.11ac to work. 802.11n caps out in most tests on the very best routers well under 100m. To get more speed you must be able to get very strong signal on the 5g band using 802.11ac. To get it to work you must be able to get a block of 4 of the 9 usable 5g channels that your neighbors are not using which is highly unlikely.

powerline devices when they work tend to be much more stable than any form of wireless because they are less susceptible to random interference from neighbors.

So should i just buy the Devolo dLAN 1200+? i do not care about the money.
