Best I7 budget if I'm not going to overclock

What would be the best i7 for me if I'm not planning on overclocking. My price range is between 200-260. Any help will be much appreciated. Or maybe I should go with one of the AMD FX's if I'm not going to overclock. I've been out of the game for awhile so I'm not familiar with the new parts.

The Intel® Core™ i7-3770 and you can get it in that price range if you have a Microcenter near you. There are only 4 3rd genertion Intel Core i7s in socket 1155. Yes, the k versions have unlocked multipliers, so can be OCed. Otherwise, At stock speeds, (without OC), both 3770k & 3770 perform same.

I've also been hearing bad things about the stock fan but if you use another fan it'll void the warranty. Do you think that since I'm not overclocking the stock fan would be sufficient. Again thank you guys for the help. It seems like the 3770 is the way to go.

Stock fan will do fine with the non-k versions.

I feel like have to ask just because you guys have been suggesting such good products. What would be the ram that should go with this build. I know ram is cheap but is 16 gb a little overkill? Which brand of ram would go good with this build? Haha, after this. I think you guys deserve somekind of Tom's Hardware reward 😛.

Any reason why you want an I7 vs an I5? is it only going to be used for gaming? If so you could save $60-$100 and get the I5 3570.

I use it for gaming plus browsing and multitasking.. do you think that it isn't worth the performance increase to get the i7?

You really won't see any performance increase in those tasks going from an i5 to an i7. I say get the i5 3570 and put that money saved toward a better video card if you don't already have one.

get the K i think they are the same price on newegg right now. Nvm they arn't 3570 is $15 cheaper... if you arn't going to Overclock then get the non K.
