Best i7 Processor for gaming

Hey guys, so I need a amazing processor for 4k gaming and also some video/photo editing. I also do plan to do some recording. Also if you can also recommend a motherboard that would be great

i7-4790K is currently the best CPU around for gamers.

the 5960x lacks individual thread performance, despite being a better CPU.


Motherboards don't matter that much, pick from this list

Consider adding an additional filter for M.2 Ports if you intend to have a PCI-e SSD for improved performance should SSDs get fast enough to saturate Sata 3.

From personal experience, the 5820k is amazing. I'm running it right now, and it runs game perfectly fine in 4k and even 5k.

The 5960x is really for those who want to brag, have tons of money, or have serious business to accomplish. If you have no budget and need it for video editing, go for the 5960x. However, a cheaper variant is the 5820k and the 5830k.

Go with the 5820k, its preforms well, games well, and will get anything you need done accomplished.
