Best Intel Processor for Gaming

What is the best gaming Intel processor for around $110? I want the best possible performance for my money, and I want it to maybe be able to play GTA V. I will be pairing it with the GTX 960 Graphics card. I have not yet chosen a motherboard. Thanks all in advance!!!

i5-4690K. But at your pricerange, I would buy a Pentium G3285 Anniversary Edition. Buy a better cooler for the money you saved and overclock it. Or find the best i3.

Buy the most recent Core i3, or i5 that you can afford. Intel Core i3 processors ar less powerful than the i5 processors and have fewer cores. THe i7 processors have more throughput and allow hyper-threading, but cost about $100 more than a corresponding i5 processor.

Dual core i3 4160 (with hyperthreading so has 4 threads) is the best intel CPU you can get at this price.

If you play only older games (single threaded) the Pentium G3258 might be interesting, since it can be heavily overclocked. It is however a dual core without hyperthreading, so (newer) games that use multi-core CPU's perform bad on this CPU:

In your price range the best is the ie-4160.

Bootcher nailed it on the head. There is so many people raving over the g3258 because of its single thread performance, but unless doing only older games/programs it will fall on its face in real world vs an i3.
