I need a Laptop for everyday use, photoshop, video editing and recording. Would like at least a 13" display running Windows 10 and 256GB hard drive at the least because I have an external 1TB hard drive I'll use for mass storage. Thank you and remember to stay below $1350

Solution
Important things:

1. For your stated usage, you will want CUDA ... and that only comes with an nvidia GPU

2. Your external drive will server well enough for storage but you'll need something fast for your scratch drive. 256GB HD size means 239 GB of actual files space, that's just 203GB leaving the recommended 15% free space. Windows footprint will grow to 80 GB within 6 months, that means just 123 GB of space.

3. 13" is rather small for your stated usages.

4. Your stated usage points to an i7

5. 16 GB should be considered the minimum with video editing

6. Photo and video editing warrants an IPS Screen

This goes $2 over budget w/ shipping included

ok thanks ill be buying it with in a month so if the site is still messed up ill call

OK, Larry got back to me after I reported the problem ... Apparently that model was discontinued, that may be why you can't add it to card of configure.

BTW, be advised that Clevo distributors are not allowed to **advertise** lower prices. You can get some pretty nice discounts from LPC, discounts depending on cost and typically range from $50 to $150

Is this a bad deal? I mean I don't really have time to wait for them to release a new list of laptops unless there is an official date but I need to buy something buy the end of August or at the latest mid September. Thanks and fee free to give suggestions I'm willing to raise my budget to closer to $1500 if need and the deal is good. And I'll do MIRs if those are a thing on laptops because I got $120 back when I built my desktop using them

Dont Buy ANY notebook now if you want GPU in it .

The new GTX 1060M , GTX 1070M , GTX 1080M are coming end of THIS MONTH .

dont buy any old generatin 970 or 960

the new gen are VERY LOW POWER TDP and MUCH FASTER ..

expect the GTX 1060m to be faster than GTX 970m for a cheap price , and the GTX1070m to be faster than GTX 980m at much lower TDP and much cheaper ..

JUST WAIT 1 MONTH

Are you 100% sure about that because I will totally wait because that is what I wanted but didn't know the time they would be released. but if the price on a 980m laptop drops a lot I might go for it because Im not going to be sad if i get a little bit less performance for a couple hundred dollars less. you know what i mean?

yes I am sure ... Wait for the new 1060,1070,1080 , they are coming soon.. by then the prices will drop ALOT for 980 and 970 ...

but wont be big deal , I expect the GTX 1060M to be very near to GTX 980M ...

and the GTX 1070M to be alot faster than GTX 980M

so even if the GTX 980M price drops you will not benifet much ... the GTX980M consumes ALOT of power ... I would get 1060M or 1070M over old GTX 980M
