Best laptop for graphic design PC VS MACBOOK

I'm doing graphic design and am currently looking at the earlier version of the macbook to buy (13', 2.6Ghz with a cd slot not the newer version) and was wondering for a similar price am I able to get something just as good or better in a pc because i prefer it over a mac.

It depends on what you need from your Mac. Designers use Macs because Adobe software works well with OSX, but aside from that, there aren't any huge differences in performance, just preference in operating system.

Macbooks have a great battery life so if that's a concern for you, i'd look into ultrabooks.

You can definitely purchase a PC with better hardware and if you prefer a PC over a Mac, I can recommend some great choices, just respond with your budget range and what you would like to see in your laptop!
