Solution

plan to do any gaming on it?

as the one you linked only has integrated graphics

and 1tb hard drives are cheap--the hard drive in the one you linked is the slowest component

could change that out for a ssd possibly

Well size screen doesn't really bother me anywhere from 13.3 to 15.6 will do as 17" will be too big for uni/school. If it does not have the feature of a transformer then the specs will have to be a lot better.

As the laptop shown above has an i7 8gb ram and 1tb hard drive which is at £600

I accidently pressed pick as a solution. However i dont necessarily plan to play games on it and the intel 4400 looks more than capable to do light gaming. Im more a less looking for a convertible/tablet/transformer for under £600 that would offer better performance than this

thats ok i can unselect best solution for you if you want

let me see if can find a convertible/tablet/transformer for under £600 thats got better specs or not--yes the 4400 is ok for

light gaming

the only thing that looks weak in the one you linked is the hard drive

There is no need to remove it as a solution as you have helped me a lot on this issue in which I am grateful. If i were to just purchase a normal laptop at this price range would it be significantly better in terms of performance/portability?

not really no--most normal laptops around £600 would be aimed at gaming--ie a dedicated graphics card

so for the transformer aspect etc the one you linked or the one i linked looks good

i would be tempted by the lenovo and use the price difference to put a ssd in it

What would be the best option in terms of the gaming side under £600 because I wouldnt mind giving up the transformer aspect for something that could play games. However I have an Xbox already so I wouldnt know what games to play lol

lol

my son in law is going for a mid range gaming laptop with a touchscreen and he reckons this is the best bet under £600
