Best Laptop for university?

It all started when school ended, I kept on asking my self which laptop to buy. At first I looked through gaming laptops since I am a gamer. I looked through many brands including cyber power Lenovo, msi, alien ware etc and i ended up settling on the MSI GE 2QC 62 Apache (i think that's what it was called). But i didn't buy it, for some financial problems i had. So i started university in AUS, and then i realized portability and battery life are a necessity in university. So I looked through net books because they are the lightest, but i still wanted to play games like bf3 and Dota 2 on the laptop. I considered the Surface pro 3, but it wasnt really worth it. So in the end i tried looking for a laptop with a minimum of GTX 860 with a quad core processor and Min 8 gb ram, i dont really care if it has ssd or not, but 512 would be good (BTW i took engineering in university)

Then there's the ASUS Zenbook Pro UX501 15.6" 4K with 16 GB RAM, 512 PCIe M.2 SSD, 4GB nVidia GeForce GTX960M, Intel i7-4720HQ as featured on http://www.ultrabookreview.com/7032-asus-zenbook-nx501/ and priced at $1,499. Note that the ASUS will get 6 hours+ of battery life.

With the specs quoted above, both machines will play BF3 and DotA 2 without breaking a sweat, as well as next-gen games like GTA V and Shadows of Mordor. They will handle anything you come across at university and probably continue to serve you well after graduation.
