I'm building a new set up with an i7 6700k cpu and a GTX 1080 founders edition. I'm having trouble figuring out what 4k TV to go with for my monitor, I'd like it to be over 50 inches, something that isn't going to break in 6 months, and I'd like to spend between $1000 and $1500 on it. So many options, I'm just having trouble figuring out how to wade through them all. Any suggestions?

Solution
Samsung 55KS8500 on Amazon now for under $1300. You don't want the low end Samsung as they are not fully HDR10 capable. I use a 65KS9500 and it's amazing.

I'm not really set on 4k, I just assumed that would be the best way to go. I'm basically just looking for the coolest possible monitor for $1000-$1500.

Well are you looking for a monitor for gaming or a tv for gaming/movies watching on. What are your exact requirements. what kind of games will you be playing, etc. A monitor with gsync would be good if you play first person shooter games. if you're more in WOW or something, than 144 synced fps doesn't matter as much.

The things i would use it for are about as diverse as possible, I'd use it as my main home entertainment center, TV, movies, I play Final Fantasy 14 and probably some future MMO on it, and everything from DOOM to The Witcher. I've still been looking and am considering https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN65J6200-65-Inch-1080p-Smart/dp/B00U9U9E1C/ref=sr_1 I'm just trying to get the most out of it that I can, and I really don't want it to randomly catch on fire while I am using it like the last 60 inch Philips monitor I had.
