Hello,

I recently installed Ubuntu on an older laptop that I that I recovered from the dead but it seems that the wireless card on the laptop is no longer working. I looked into a few wireless network adaptors but most are not compatible with Linux so I've been having a hard time finding one that would work on the machine. If you have any experience in this sort of thing I would love to get some solutions!

Thanks,
Mutton

'' Cons: Bought this at another store thinking it was an Atheros chipset. Turns out version 4 switched to a cheap Realtek RTL8192CU chipset. The speed is unacceptably slow 3.94 Mbits/sec on Linux kernel 3.12 measured with iperf. Binary drivers are not a solution for Linux.''

''Cons: I specifically ordered this to get a Atheros chipset. TP-Link has switched to the awful Realtek 8192cu. Stay away. My box says v4.2. This chipset is currently terrible under linux''

homework and reading up on little things like that can save some headache ...

''Pros: Price, Performance, Plug-n-Play with Linux''-- . I've used it with both Mint Linux 13 and now Mint 16 and it's plug-n-play.

''Pros: -Works on Windows 7,10, & linux''
