Best long range device connection solution?

Hello, I'd like to connect som USB devices and peripherals at about a 3m to 5m distance. I'm concerned about the most reliable and fastest data transfer rate. I'll be connecting things like wireless keyboard / mouse, external hdd and micro sd cards. Possible options I've come across so far are USB hubs connected with either active USB extenders or something cables referred to as cat or so. So what is my best option and please let me know if there are any better solutions, like with Ethernet or so. Thanks.

An active USB cable is your best solution. That said I've daisy chained a 10ft extension cable and a 6ft keyboard/mouse/xbox cable to get about the same distance without any problems.
