Hello!! I am currently looking at upgrading my PC. I have a GTX 1080ti for gpu so I will keep that as it is. But currently have an intel 4600k cpu and a gigabyte ga z97 hd3 motherboard. Currently my Intel isn't supported by the latest adobe products for some reason so I'm wondering if i should get another intel or try out an AMD processor. My budget isn't a lot, but would like to keep it under $1000AUD if possible.

Any help would be appreciated!

I included a PSU in each one since your PSU is probably old at this point. This also assumes that you will be reusing your case and other drives.

Solution
I might presume that your cpu is a i5-4690K processor.
I know of no reason why adobe would not support that processor.
Possibly because some functions need more than the 4 threads that you have.

In addition to a cpu upgrade you are also going to need a new motherboard and ddr4 ram.
For streaming and photoshop apps, you might consider more than the usual 2 x 8gb of ram.

Intel recently launched the 10th gen desktop processors.
The I5-10600K looks like a winner to me with 12 threads.
If you want to splurge, the i5-10700K with 16 threads is even stronger.

There are not many M-ATX Z490 motherboards at launch date.
Asus, asrock, and gigabyte have them, all for about $150 US.
I have little to pick among them.
If you will be looking at the i7-10700K, I might pick the asus rog strix Z490
on the basis of beefier voltage regulation.

Thank you so much guys!!
If I were looking for Micro-ATX as an alternative, what would be the best choices? (I also have a Silverstone Strider 700w PSU) My friend says to wait for a B550, is this a good idea?
