Hi guys

What would you suggest is the best mATX motherboard that would also be compatible with a Ryzen 7 2700x processor?

Take look at the mATX boards here to see which boards will work best with a 2700x:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...IVNyMatydkpFA/htmlview?sle=true#gid=639584818

Then you need to determine what features are most important to you and choose one that will work well with the 2700x and has the features you want/need.
Then read as many reviews of the boards that best fit your needs.

Thanks man!, Bit of a naive question but what would I look for to know if it works with the 2700x?

Sorry I posted the wrong link.
This one shows which MB work best with a 2700x:

The chart in my first post does tell you which boards are mATX though so you can use that as a reference when looking at this chart.

Any of the mid range (or even the low range) boards will run the 2700x at stock speeds but the mid to high range boards will be better suited to overclocking the 2700x.
Just as a reference my Asus ROG Strix B450-F Gaming is listed as low end on that chart BUT I am fully confident it would run the 2700x at stock speed (and probably mildly OC'd) just fine.
