I was thinking about getting the ms sidewinder x4 (i know its non mechanical) but its out of stock, after researching keyboards, i was wondering what the best mechanical gaming keyboard would be to get. any help would be great, also include why its a good keyboard if you can (ie: extra macro keys, programmable, comfortable, etc...) thanx to all who help {=^.^=}

it is imperative that i have the number pad lol, but nice recommendation

i don't mind investing in a good keyboard, i'm a college student, so i type papers ALL of the time, i also program a lot, and game a lot....so most of my time spent is at the keyboard.

yeah i've been reading up on the switch types

"Cherry MX Red Switch - The red switch is a lot like the black one except that you don't have to press down as hard and is not quite as noisy. This makes it a bit faster overall than the black and a little less accurate. Great for FPS-type games where you need to be quick and also among the best mechanical keyboard switches for typing"

there are a lot of issues dealing with the backlights on the keys not working, sometimes macro keys don't work etc...i was actually looking to get that, still might....but that das may have me sold
