Best memory for asus P7P55D MOTHERBOARD

I am confused about what memory to buy for P7P55D Asus motherboard. everything I read contradicts.

DDR3 memory is what you need. Any good brand (Kingston, Geil, G. skill, Crucial, OCZ, ...) will do. Make sure to get 1333 MHz or above, preferably with low timings (CL7 or CL8).

I have found 2 types of corsair ddr3 dual channel but they are not on the asus approved list

TW3X4G1333C9A and a dearer CMD4GX3M2A1600C8. is the C8 the timing

As long as those modules run at 1.65 V or below, they should be fine. Anything above 1.65 V can potentially fry your processor.

What CPU are you getting? With an i5 750 you will not be able to set RAM to run faster than 1333 MHz without OCing your CPU. An i7 860 is limited to a top frequency of 1600 MHz without OCing your CPU. However the difference between the two frequencies is often marginal and not always noticable outside of benchmarks.

However, there can still be good reasons to get 1600 RAM. For one, at times you can find 1600 RAM that is cheaper than 1333 RAM with similar specs.
