Best method for covering the top of my PC?

I live in a small flat where, as a result of spacing, my tower is situated right by the mirror where all the sprays, hair straightners etc that my girlfriend uses are. There's no room for anything to be moved unfortunately.

I'm pretty concerned that the hair sprays are going to enter into the tower through the large opening on the top (Phanteks Pro) and settle on the GPU/MOBO over time causing damage due to the chemicals found within those sprays. She knows not to spray directly towards the tower but as she's standing right by it I feel it's inevitable.

Am I being overly cautious? Would it be smart to find something to chuck over the top of my tower when it's not turned on?

On a side note this thread should be nominated for most unexpected/strange one of the year surely!?

I also share a room with my girlfriend.. I feel your pain! Sprays, chemicals, make up - everywhere! The amount of bags of products in my room right now, I started calling it 'bag-dad' haha

Anyway; Never cover your PC when its turned on, the heat will do more damage than the chemicals. That said, as i7baby has suggested, throwing something over it (I would advise something like a table cloth rather than a towel, as a towel could get used and you may end up throwing a wet towel over your PC by accident!) when it is not in use would be a good idea to stop anything getting in there.

Hi
If you fancy a bit of DIY you could make some wood or plastic the same size as the top of your pc.
You could then make 4 or 6 feet or spacers so that the new cover is a couple of cm above the top of the pc to give room for cooling.
if you step the feet so that they go partially down the side of the pc and partially sit on top then the cover will not move.

Glad someone else knows my pain then!

My phanteks pro case came with dust filters - not really sure how effective they would be at keeping hair spray etc out?

I have thought about some kind of cloth but to be honest they tend to accumulate dirt/hair/dust and once I place it over the top it could well dislodge a lot of it into the tower.
