I'm looking for a cheap microphone for video calls and general use, doesn't need to be brilliant, just don't want it to sound like a tin. Thanks!

Up your budget a bit and get a Blu Snowball iCE, it's a known good kit for not much over what you want to spend. The higher end Snowball offers a few more features but good chance you won't need to use them, a different sound pickup pattern and can drop the sensitivity for loud sounds.

I like that microphone, but it does feel like overkill, im not really going to be doing much on it

I would go with Trust GXT 212 or better model GXT 232.

They are both budget models and they sound decent.
