Hey guys.

Basically I am in the market for a mid range mother board between the price of 140$ to 175$ cdn. that offers best OC ability for a E6400 with pc6400 ram.

So far from what Ive come to understand the P5B-VM is good, however, it only allows something like 1.9 volts max for the ram? Does the P5B also suffer from this problem?

I am not 100% sure how this all works out, higher ram frequencies require more power from my undestanding, so how much does this hamper the ability to OC?

Also what would be a realistic over clock setting with one of these Asus boards- ASus seems to have the best OC abiliting - on a 6400?
Would 3ghz be attainable with no chance to the CPU cooling?

I just thought Id mention that I dont know where most of you guys are. But mid range in the states might be upper mid range here...

-Sorry if this has already been asked.I tried the search and didn't come up with anything to specific for what I asked. maybe someone can direct me if anything.

Check the Gigabyte DS3, it offers great overclocking, also the Abit AB9-Pro. Lower-end P5B's aren't that great, Asus namebrand notwithstanding. 3Ghz from a 6400 with stock cooling is highly, highly doubtful. Unless you keep your computer outside up there in Canada, I'd recommend coughing up an extra 40cd for a big typhoon or similar cooler. Your CPU will thank you.
