Best Mobo and cpu combo around $300 and alternatives

I had recently bought a i5 4690k and a MSI H81M-E34 motherboard in hopes that I could over clock. Everything is still in the box so I could return it but I was wondering I indeed could over clock on the msi motherboard ($47 ish). If not what would a micro ATX LGA 1150 DDr3 alternative be with everything around 300 (cpu is 235). Or what would be another alternative closest Mobo and cpu combo performance wise to a i5 4690k. No you bought the wrong motherboard if you're looking to overclock. I would send both of them back, forget about overclocking and get an i5 6600 + H170 motherboard.

There's my problem. If I can get a i5 6600 and a motherboard that supports it and ddr3 then I'm on board. It's just my memory is ddr3 and I need to be compatible with it

Ah ok. Well you could keep the 4690k and buy one of these Z97 boards but you'd have to spend an extra $30-40

So I'm guessing this will work with the i5 4690k but I need a micro ATX and I believe this is http://pcpartpicker.com/product/gfYXsY/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz97mxgaming5 but I'm not sure it will fit. Yes you need microATX, and that board would be fine.
