what's the best motherboard to run 2x Asus ROG Ares III's? I haven't decided on a processor yet but I'm thinking either a 5930K or a 4790K. Ideally, I'd like to have the option to add a 3rd GPU (a R9295X2, or, maybe even a 3rd Ares3 if I can get my hands on another one), so that would PROBABLY mean getting a 4790K. Need some advice here, ideally, it's to have the best GAMING experience and also STREAMING experience. no cap on the budget, just need to know what the best MoBo is for GAMING + STREAMING and if a 3rd GPU would be buggy or cause issues if I already have 2x Ares 3s. If getting a 3rd one causes an issue then there's no point of getting a 5930K... what do you guys think?

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

Scaling with 3 GPUs isn't really great comparing price/performance, so, I would suggest go with 2xAres in SLI and 4790K. In that order, the best motherboard (IMO) that you can get is the ASUS MAXIMUS VII FORMULA with enough space between the two PCI-E 3.0 lines for fit without problems those GPUs.

Now, in the 2011-v3 side you will have to think in DDR4 and a board ASUS for that rig start at $235 USD (a "basic one"). IMO the cost of that rig doesn't justify the performance that you get.

Thanks for your reply.

Lets say we were to forget about all prices, so lets say everything was $0, would you still recommend the same setup or suggest different parts?
