Hi. This is my first post here so thanks in advance.

I'm upgrading my 7700k to i9-9900k, however I'm trying to find a good mobo for it with a couple of considerations: first I'm wondering my PSU would be enough (see below) and -as this is my 2nd rig- I would not like to get any low-end VRM for OC.

My actual build is: 7700k (Watercooled)/MSI Z270 M5/32 3200 DDR4 CORSAIR VENG/1080 TI (also watercooled)/Supernova EVGA G3 1000W, EKWB XRES-D5 Revo pump/m.2 960 SAMSUNG EVO 480 GB/8 120 VARDAR FANS FOR 4 RADS.

Budget is another concern: should I get a better PSU or put that money in a high-end mobo? The reason I did not get a 2080 ti is mostly because I like to play at 1080p.

Thanks for your help guys.

Solution
That power supply is plenty and then some. Its actually a bit overkill. Whats your motherboard budget?

Motherboard: ASRock - Z390 Taichi ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($209.99 @ Newegg Business)
Total: $209.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

That's the cheapest motherboard I would get with a 9900k. Actually I would ask you to look into the 9700k. It performs above the 9900k in some games and doesn't have the heat and power issues. It also overclocks higher

Hey! thanks for the answer! If the PSU is enough, I would say that mobo budget is about 300 (I wish it could be higher but I want to preserve my life as a married man) . I didn't know about 9700k OCing better than 9900k that is a very interesting fact, I'll do my research about it.

The Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master has been very highly rated by pretty much all reviewers and will more than hnadle a 9900K overclocked all the way with a 12+2 phase VRM setup. Saying that, all the Gigabyte Z390 boards from the Pro, Elite, Ultra also ahve a 12 phase VRM setup and again are very good for functions, features and cooling...Well worth a look.

This might also help as the Z390 boards were tested:

The Aorus Ultra is just one wrung below the Master and fairly good price at $228.44
