Best Modular PSU Under 450W

Above is the present configuration of my pc below you find the future plan Which is just changing the HDD.
You might think now why did i used 600W PSU. That i selected at that time with the plan of GTX 580 for my premiere pro. But now i found out i can manage it with GTX 660 or 660Ti (Which haven't got yet.)

Now i got a situation that i have to work from home. That mean 20days 8 hours. In my country Electricity is costly. So i have delayed the Graphic card plan. May be i won't. But just for future proof i don't want to buy a PSU Less than 450W.

My question is
1) how much power i will save by changing 600W 80+ to 450W platinum or gold
2) I have big difficulties finding 450W PSU. The one i found is Antec Earthwatts 550W platinum is that ok?
(I think 550W is too much because PSU work efficiently in middle load)

Here are 6 (IMO) viable options
1) Antec HCG-400M ~$65
2) Corsair CX430M ~$55
3) PC Power & Cooling PPCMK3S400 ~$55
4) SeaSonic SS-350M1U ~$75

6) SeaSonic SSR-450RM ~80

In the long run it'll take probably over 10 years to pay off the price of the psu. And by then you would probably have a new pc so you lost money.

80+ is 80%, platinum is 92% at 50% load. Even at full load constantly for 8 hours/20 days, that's only ~6 kwh per month saved if you had a 660ti. That is calculated with a generous 250w peak load.

I don't know how much electricity costs to you, but for me it's 9 cents per kwh (it's low I know). That equals ~$7 per year and ~15 years to pay off that $100+ platinum psu. Keep in mind that this is full gpu and cpu load which is not practical (so probably 30 years more realistically). If you could say how much your kwh cost is, you can easily calculate it. And also you could get a more realistic idea if you know usually how long you'd be at peak load. If you could sell your current psu, you can factor that in too. But this venture will still prove to be impractical for money savings.

Calculation breakdown:
250w peak power / .8 efficiency = 312.5w off the wall
250/.92=~271.7
~41w saved x 8 hours x 20 days = ~6.5 kwh x 12 months = 78kwh saved per year
78 x .09 cost per kwh = ~$7 per year saved
$100 cost of psu / 7 = ~14 years to pay off

50.86 LKR = .40 USD

78 x .4 cost per kwh = ~$31 per year saved
$70 cost of psu / 31 = ~2.3 years to pay off

Again remember this is full load 8 hours a day. But this still might be on the plausible side is figured with more realistic numbers.

If you can get that psu, for about that price, I'd say go for it. Selling your old psu would recoup the costs even sooner.

Yes i will sell my psu too thanks.. I'm getting lost in finding a 450W platinum PSU.. I only have 550W here. In ebay i found one which the shipping cost is 71USD Psu is antec earth watt platinum 450W price is 101USD.

With my present configuration with out graphic card which one is better?
Forget the GPU for a moment. Which one is more power efficient

450W Gold (Rosewill capstome ) or 400W Bronze (Silencer MKIII
Prices are slim which one is good? I know gold is more efficient since my draw will be less i don't my psu to be less than 20% load. Which one you recommend?
Between i have a thought for Corsari CX 430 Modular too (From Australia)

I'm looking for a Modular PSU under 450W. This PC is very less power hungry i don't have a Graphic card yet. At present 200W is enough.. I don't need a very efficient powersupply but i don't need to buy a psu in high wattage and keep it under 10-20% which is not wise and efficient. But need a Modular PSU. That PSU must be good and safe guard the internal components and it life time. It must have good power conditioning.. Efficient is not very important but must have 80plus certification.

1) Must be less than 450W
2) Modular Design only (Semi also ok)
3) Must have good quality components to prolong the pc components
4) at least 80 plus certificate.

I know below 450W we have very less choice in modular. But just want to ask this question. Max Budget 120USD

I need for ATX casing so 4,5 doesn't work i think..

Among the choice i'm thinking the below..
PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk III Series 400W

What about Seasonic X series 400W platinum.. I don't need fanless but I'm ok to spend if that components are better.
Are we missing any thing else here?

The SeaSonic Platinum-400 Fanless (SS-400FL2 Active PFC F3) would be representative of the best 400 Watt PSU on the market.

That would be my choice

The design/components are that much better but wasn't included because it didn't fit the price cap as posted (I think it was ~$140)

Yes.. But if it is premium and worth the price i will go for it.. But if the price goes for the fan less design i don't want to put the extra money for that. What about people are complaining about that buzz?

With any component manufacturing process, there are units that pass QC when they shouldn't have. SeaSonic is pretty good for RMA'ing if there is an issue with the PSU if you want to spend the money for the best for your requirements...
Personally, unless fan noise is a concern I think the PC Power & Cooling PPCMK3S400 represents the best value without having to worry if your downstream components are being stressed by voltage fluctuations or excessive ripple/noise

From the customer service stories I've heard about SeaSonic they don't send you a new PSU when you RMA a defective one. They will send you a repaired used one, according to one customer who RMA'ed a new X-Series 850W and received an obviously used one in its place.

Corsair doesn't repair RMA'ed power supplies. They send a new replacement.

Corsair doesn't own any soldering tools :cry: - they are unable to repair their units unless they send them off to ChannelWell or whoever the contractor for that model is. I personally will take SeaSonic over most Corsair units given the choice.

After sales doesn't matter.. I'm buying from a different country.. We don't have any good power supplies below 450W. I want to buy the best while buying.. Shipping and getting back will be double the amount of PSU.. Less prone to failure more welcome than best after sales service for me..

In X400 mentioned to keep the vent holes upwards.. My casing is Silverstone RL01 Which has bottom mount psu. So will it be ok to mount it upside (vent hols) down against the recommendation?

Btw i just bid for a Silencer mkiii in ebay. 😀
