That is my top choice.
1) 2560x1440->
- if sitting close it will still help the quality of 1920x1080 games (with 1920x1080 the individual pixels are too obvious if sitting close... if sitting far away that it doesn't matter you'd likely buy a normal HDTV anyway)
- good for PC
2) IPS->
better than TN panel for color and viewing angles (adds a small amount of ghost/blur but it's worth it to me)
Update: this monitor is "AHVA" which the article says is a version of IPS. You can read about the differences (monitor review linked below), but the picture should still be pretty good. Not to be confused with "VA" (vertical alignment) as it still uses IPS (In-Plane Switching).
3) Headphone jack
- for stereo headphones or desktop speakers
The headphone jack allows you to SHARE the same desktop speakers with a desktop PC. Just toggle the device being used through the monitors INPUT selection (PC on DP, then Console on HDMI).
REVIEW:

Gaming PC?
Freesync requires an AMD card so something like an RX-480 or supported AMD card would be useful. The similar NVidia monitor (GSYNC support) is about $200 more.
If the GPU isn't supported then it works like a normal, 144Hz monitor.
Again, your input from console will be 1080p, 60Hz via the HDMI input.
Other stuff:
- not sure if the monitor has any backlight strobing to minimize blur/ghosting. If so, see if it works.
- see if any "GAME" type modes exist for the HDMI or options to reduce the processing (to reduce latency).
