Hey, I'm currently in search of a new monitor for fps gaming, my one is a bit outdated.
I play CS:GO, Dayz/Arma and Battlefield.
For the games I play which do you think is best suited for me?
Samsung S24D300H 24in Widescreen LED Monitor
or
BenQ RL2240HE Limited Edition 21.5in LED Gaming Monitor
Also if there are any other monitors which are in this price range, you believe is superior to both these monitors be sure to post them aswell:)
Thanks:)

There is a decent database of input lag for monitors and TVs.
Personally I game at a 32 LCD tv, a 50 inch plasma tv or a 149 inch projector depending on my mood and how competitive I am feeling that day.

Anything under 40 input lag should be good. Anything over 65 is bad (as in, you move the mice and can notice that there is a delay in the action on the screen).

Please do not mistake response time with input lag, they are different things. Response time 5ms or less (black to white, not grey to grey).

I consider 27-32 inches perfect as a monitor/HDTV, anything bigger is severe overkill (but I like overkill).

Also you might want to read about the contrast ratio (static contrast ratio, not...
The only difference in fps that the monitor will make, is what resolution it is. A 1080p display will require more gfx card power to produce the same fps as a 720p display... for instance. So, since both are 1080p displays, the fps will be the same with either one.

Yes, I understand that. My system will be able to run any game at 1080p I am just asking what is the best monitor for the games I play. So will these monitor be okay? I understand all monitors have different refresh rates and some have visual tearing while other don't. So in terms of that, which monitor do you think is superior to the other?

oh hahaha that's alright. I can see where you misunderstood.

Assuming the two somewhat similarly priced monitors are about equal in specs, I'd go for the one with the larger 24" screen. 1080p text can get pretty tiny at 21.5" diag.
Btw, I just remembered. One of my Samsung units did have a problem. I have a Samsung HDTV that had a failure shortly after buying it. I called Samsung and they had a local service tech out in a couple days to fix it free of charge. I really expected I'd have to send it in somewhere for service. So, they have that going for them.

since FPS games rely a lot upon twitch reactions and smooth gameplay, a monitor with low (2m and under) refresh rate would probably be best

so if you're going to pick a monitor, sacrifice things like color quality etc for a lower refresh rate (it's a minute difference overall, but still a difference)

Black level is also very important, but harder to find in monitor specs.

Another option is ultra wide monitors (by LG for example).
I havent tried one myself but it seems they are great if you go 32 inches or more (34 is the biggest i think).

Good luck with your purchase 😀.
